Jimmy Chan Hong Kong & China
Mr. Chan has over twenty years of experience in the financial and real estate sector in Asia.
He was most recently the Investment Director for the HSBC NF China Fund (US$780m) responsible for real estate investments in China.
Previously the Regional GM with Aareal Bank and Managing Director with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, based in Singapore, where he was responsible for various landmark hotel investments and financing transactions including the financing of Colony Capital’s acquisition of the Raffles Hotel portfolio and project financing for the Wynn Hotel in Macau.
Mr. Chan has served as the Chief Financial Officer for City e-Solutions Ltd. (formerly CDL Hotel International Ltd.) responsible for investment, financial controls and reporting, tax, and financing for this HK listed company which provide services for the hospitality industry.
Working in both Singapore and HK, he has held various senior positions with Societe Generale Group and The Chase Manhattan Bank N.A, spanning corporate finance, capital markets, syndication, and advising on transactions for major real estate developers and hotel companies in the region.
He is an Independent Director and Audit Committee member of CDL Hospitality REIT, the largest hotel REIT listed in Asia ex-Japan.
Mr Chan graduated from the University of British Columbia with a B.A.Sc. and the University of Missouri-Columbia with M.SC. in Construction Management.
Roger Marshall Hong Kong & China
Roger has been based in Hong Kong since 1992. Previously, Managing Director of Crosby Asset Management Holdings Limited, where he managed private equity funds in China and Thailand. Roger is currently Managing Director of Persimmon Capital Limited, an investment management and advisory firm that he founded in 1999 specializing in private equity and venture capital.
Since 1999, Roger has also been Managing Director of ABN AMRO Asia Capital Investment, the private equity investment company of ABN AMRO Bank N.V., the Dutch bank. Roger is an active investor in a number of businesses including services based businesses in food processing, leisure and healthcare.
He is Chairman of Creative Food International Holdings Limited, a fresh produce business in China.. He is also Chairman of Octasoft International, a software and systems provider to financial institutions active in Greater China and South East Asia. He is a non-executive director of Shanghai Dajiang Stock (Group) Co. Ltd., a meat processing business listed in the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and sits on the investment committee of Siam Investment Fund II, a private equity fund that invests in Thailand.
He was Chairman (2002) and President (2003-2005) of the Hong Kong Venture Capital & Private Equity Association and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Asia Pacific Venture Capital and Private Equity Alliance. He is a Director of the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council.
Roger qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG, London in 1977 and worked in financial management positions in the hospitality, transport and oil services industries.
Richard W. Turner Australia & Middle East
Richard Turner is a professional director who currently sits on the board of a number of international publicly listed companies undertaking fully integrated investments across developed and emerging markets. Mr. Turner was formerly with Hyatt and Inter-Continental Hotels Group . As a CEO has developed, owned and asset managed for Four Seasons, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, Accor, Hilton, Marriott and Ascott. In the Middle East has developed the world’s largest hotel projects and resort master-plans.
His experience encompasses Funds Management, Management of Public, Private & Institutional Investors, Strategy & Planning, Construction, Project Management and Asset Operational Execution.
Mr. Turner is a leading business figure in the development, acquisition and management of real estate assets. His broad experience covers hotels, residential, mixed-use master plans, retail, office, comprehensive infrastructure (roads, water, and telecommunications) and transport projects, facilities management, theme-parks, serviced apartments and commercial and technology investments.
Mr. Turner has been actively involved in the development of over US$14bn of investments & developments. As an international CEO of integrated investments & developments, his expertise extends to feasibility, financing, design and project management.
In other capacities, he is an expert in feasibility, valuation, financing, branding, revenue generation/cost control, as well as an industry leader in sales & marketing and business development.
Mr. Turner has also been a key advisor to the delegates of APEC, ASEAN, NAM, ARAB LEAGUE and the WEF on investment and development in emerging and developed markets and continues to advise Corporate Chairmen and Government Ministers globally. Mr. Turner is a permanent delegate of the United Nations Summit for Global Leadership.

Aaron Chik Singapore
Mr. Chik started his career in 1974 with Continental Illinois National Bank & Trust Company of Chicago as Regional Auditor, later serving as Credit and Marketing Officer. Joined Inter-Alpha Asia (Hong Kong) Ltd. (now ING-Bank) in 1979, responsible for regional marketing covering Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and Japan.
In 1981, he joined the French merchant bank Credit Industriale et Commerciale – Union Europeene in HK, responsible for regional origination, trade financing, syndication and capital markets. In late 1984, Mr. Chik emigrated to Singapore and joined Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (“OCBC”) in their Head Office. As Head of International Credit, Correspondent Banking and Overseas Branches, his duties included business development in the Pacific Rim (excluding Singapore and Malaysia), sanctioning credit proposals from the bank’s overseas branches/subsidiaries, loan administration and agency functions for syndicated facilities. He also oversaw operation of Central China International Leasing Company in Wuhan, PRC which was OCBC’s 50/50 joint venture with the Bank of China/Wuhan Municipal Government, providing project financing and leasing.
Mr. Chik was a senior banker at Creditanstalt-Bankverein based in HK and subsequently in Singapore, responsible for trade, structured credit, project and corporate financings, syndications and capital markets throughout the Asia-Pacific Region.
In 1999, Mr. Chik joined Laidlaw Group, a private equity and investment firm with headquarters in New York and started the operations of Laidlaw Pacific (Singapore) Private Ltd, focusing on advisory and fund raising transaction in the Asia Pacific region.
From 2000 to 2010 Mr. Chik was CFO, and later Advisor and Director of Asia Pacific Wire and Cable Ltd, a electrical wire and cable manufacturer with factories in Australia, China, Malaysia and Thailand. APWC is listed company on the NYSE.

Robin Penman Dubai
Robin is a senior executive with over 30 years experience in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia developing and managing businesses specializing in major developments and strategic infrastructure projects.
Mr. Penman’s extensive experience incorporates all aspects of managing major programs and projects covering feasibility, master planning, design, financing, construction and asset management, clients and partners include Government, Private Sector and International Finance Agencies.
Robin has directed the planning and implementation of a number of mega-projects including Jumeirah Village South, Dubai Maritime City in Dubai and holding the overall responsibility for the planning, design and execution of Dubai Waterfront as well as Smart Cities in Malta, India and Saudi Arabia, as well as the world-class Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi.
His major development portfolio includes residential, commercial, industrial and leisure developments together with strategic infrastructure projects across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Libya, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Brunei and Indonesia.
Robin is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK and has held senior executive positions with international publicly listed companies including AECOM, Mouchel & Parkman Consultants.
